See a Podiatrist: More information and a physical exam is needed. Are you diabetic? Are you a runner? Do you stand on feet all day? There are a number of things that can cause heel pain, see a podiatrist in your area. In the meantime rest, elevate, ice can also help.

Could be : Plantar fasciitis and/or nerve entrapment such as tarsal tunnel. Possibly can be related to back pathology. Seeing a podiatrist is a good place to start.

Plantar fascitiis. : Try wearing a night splint. Usually will work in 1-3 days., until then, massage the heel with your thumb before getting out of bed.
