i am experiencing foot pain in the top of my foot. mostly when i wake or after resting or when im bare foot. had for 3 months +. hurts, makes me limp.

Varies: There are a number of potential cause including inflammatory, arthritic, and posttraumatic causes. There are a number of small joints, tendons, and nerves in the area. Don't hesitate to see a foot specialist for an accurate diagnosis and to discuss treatment options.

Get an X-Ray...: That's the real way to tell for sure. Even then, stress fractures are sometimes hard to see on x-rays until the healing has already started.
