Scratched by coral?: Rashes are difficult to describe in words. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can examine patches to see what they might be. Coral is abrasive and can leave tiny little scratches and cuts on the hands. Sometimes rashes are related to allergies, irritants, eczema, fungi (tinea), psoriasis, etc... For unusual rashes, skin biopsy may be done by a dermatologist, who also checks for skin cancer.
