Production of urine: The renal pyramid consists of renal tubules primarily the loop of henle and collecting ducts. As urine passes through these tubules it is more and more concentrated and certain electrolytes such as potassium, sodium, chloride etc are secreted or reabsorbed from or into these tubules to maintain precise concentration of these electrolytes in the blood.
