Is a displacement of a medial mensicus root considered a tear? i have a lot of pain when standing and straighting the knee what could that be?

Yes: A root avulsion is just a tear which involves the very corner of the meniscus. Symptomatically it is the same as a meniscus tear. Surgically, it is a bit harder to repair, but a skilled arthroscopist should be able to help you.
