A member asked:

Do you get sensitive hearing in a certain range before losing hearing in that range?

Difficult question: Some inner ear diseases such as meniere's disease are characterized by dysaccusis or increased sensitivity to sound of a particular frequency (pitch), even though there may be a hearing loss at that frequency. This is called recruitment and is characteristic of certain inner ear diseases where there is hair cell injury. See an ENT physician for an audiogram and diagnosis.
