How to help prevent cva if you have high blood pressure?

Control the BP: High blood pressure (htn), if uncontrolled, will lead to cva/strokes. You must therefore control your HTN to goal. This can be accomplished with medications and various changes that you must make, like weightloss, eating a balanced diet, exercise, stop smoking, control cholesterol, decrease salt, less than 2 cups of caffeine, less than 3 drinks of alcohol, control stress, pray/meditate and monitor.

Get under control: One of the main causes of stroke is hypertension, which is readily controllable with modern medications. See your doctor, fully evaluate all risk factors, do not smoke, and appropriate preventative treatment should be successful.
