Lol: Good question. There are some very reasonably priced screening tests. For example my clinic does lipid profiles for $10. Also we do coronary calcium screenings for $99 (best noninvasive screening test for CAD in men over 40 & women over 50) & don't forget healthtap :-) doesn't get any better than free, right?

Yes: Often, the cardiology consult is cheaper than a plumber visit. Additionally, the test fees can be negotiated with the physician in some instances.
