I don't know.: I don't know you well enough to know if you are fixated. If you, friends or family live on the Gulf Coast in Texas during hurricane season - it is reasonable to keep track of that. When I lived on the Gulf Coast and Hurricane Ivan destroyed many homes, I was glued to the tv for the 6 days before we were allowed to re-enter the area. It helped us prepare for what was to come.

Maybe: If you watch constantly or for many hours each day on a regular basis and cannot distract yourself or perform your usual tasks, you might have an obsession. If you watch frequently but briefly and do not mind missing it for several days at a time, probably not. Obsessive behavior is an unpleasant, repeated, forced activity the individual is unable to stop except with major distraction.

Hurricane Fixation: It is healthy to be concerned and have some anxiety about Natural Disasters as your State of Texas has been severely affected by Hurricane Harvey. Let Wise Man within you ask: Have you or your loved ones been affected with losses? Are you very worried, fearful or panicky? Brooding? Number hours every day spent on Weather channel? Talking for long time about it? For these see a Therapist.
