Change in pressure: Arthritis pain can get worse when there is a change in weather, sometimes called "weather ache". This is because an arthritic joint is inflamed and has more fluid in. This makes the joint more sensitive to a change in the barometric pressure. If the barometer is falling, it leads to pain and "weather ache".
