Recovering too slowly from sexual trauma. who can help?

A Therapist: A therapist that specializes in trauma can help, as can a psychiatrist. The best practice would be for the two types of practitioners to work together. If there are physical issues r if you have a good relationship with your physician, ask her or him to recommend someone. There are also articles on the internet you can read.

Finding a therapist: You can find a competent, local therapist by starting with these two organizations: 1) http://www.Rainn.Org/get-information/types-of-sexual-assault/child-sexual-abuse 2) http://www.Apa.Org/topics/sexual-abuse/ one of the most important factors in choosing a therapist is that you feel safe and comfortable with the person. Keep looking until you do.
