What is this brown recluse spider scare about?

See below: Brown recluse spiders (loxoceles genus) have venomous bite that can cause a lot of problems medically. This is what all the scare is about. The major problems don't happen to everyone bitten but severe medical issues can result.

Anyone who has been: bit by a brown recluse and had a negative reaction can tell you it is an utterly horrible experience. I was bit about 30 years ago and retain very vivid recall of the event. I don't think I will ever clear brush in areas it lives in, without putting on protective clothing.
