Variable time: Human tissue can be destroyed by brown recluse venom. The victim may not feel or notice the bite when the bite happens. Initially the bite site may appear to be like any other insect bite. However over the course of a few days surrounding tissue is destroyed by the venom. The infection as well as the venom can also spread throughout the body and can be life-threatening. Treatment is supportive.
