What is done for a dislocated elbow?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: A simple dislocation (no bone was fractured) is typically treated with a reduction (put the joint back in place), a brief period of immobilization (1-2 weeks) and therapy. The recurrence rate (chance of it happening again) is exceeding low. If a bone was fractured in the dislocation- then we usually have to do surgery to fix the fracture or the elbow will remain unstable over time.
