Disfigured.: The elbow would show an obvious deformity. Usually they dislocate posteriorly, meaning that the lower arm bone dislocates backwards, with regard to the upper arm. The person would not have any mobility at he elbow, if it were truly dislocated.

You would know: If you dislocated your elbow, you would have excruciating pain and be unable to move it. But is not subtle at all. Even if you likely did not dislocate it, if you think you otherwise injured it you would be wise to be seen and evaluated.
