A member asked:

What could hypersensitivity to beer indicate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hops or barley: There are some people allergic to hops or barley used to make beer. Its may also be that the alcohol in beer causes nasal congestion that you mistake for allergic rhinitis. Try drinking a clear spirit like vodka or gin. If those cause the same symptoms as beer the cause is the drug effect of alcohol on your nose.
