what could cause a sore throat and ear ache?

Refered Pain: Strep or viral tonsillitis including mono will cause sore throat. Middle ear infection or swimmers ear will cause earache. Being nerve supply to middle ear lining and throat is from same vagus nerve, patient can have refered pain to other organ.
