Go to doctor: Sore throats known as pharygitis are caused by bacteria especially group a strept or viruses. If you have persistent sore throat, then it is wise to go to your doctor for evaluation. The doctor can evaluate if your pharynx and/or tonsils are inflamed as well as your ear canal which frequently is also infected. You may require antibiotics for a bacterial pharyngitis. This will prevent future spread.
