Elavil (amitriptyline): Amitriptyline has strong anticholinergic effect (drying effect) & can cause dry skin, fever & increase sweating. If taking a high dose & u r under the sun for a while, some confusion occurs & the above-mentioned side-effects can intensify.

In addition to side: Effects listed by dr. Ali - severe sunburn is also possible when taking Amitriptyline ; exposed to sun. The incidence of this side effect is not known.
