Lots of reasons: A workout routine is simply a collection of exercises grouped together to achieve a particular goal. That goal is the reason people do it, and it varies from person to person. Some do it to lose weight, others to gain weight, some do it to improve endurance, sometimes it's sports specific, and some do it simply because it makes them feel good.
