A member asked:

How frequently is optic neuritis related to ms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infrequent: If optic neuritis alone without any MRI lesions otherwise, the risk of eventual ms is about 25%, so there is not a direct one to one risk. Regardless of the above, important to find out why one does have optic neuritis, and very important to treat asap to reverse the process.
