MRI: If you have a headache lasting for a week, i would go for an urgent brain MRI or cat scan. A cerebral aneurysm rupture or brain tumor, or cerebral bleeding should first be ruled out. If scan are negative, then check blood pressure. High blood presure could be source of headahe. If normal, i would check thyroid hormone levels. If negative, evaluate the neck.
