Appendectomy: Depending on whether your appendix was removed laparoscopically or via the open approach, the resumption of heavy lifting might vary between 4-6 weeks. You certainly could do some lifting, but weight lifting should wait.

2 to 6 weeks: It depends on how the appendix was removed. If done laparoscopically, i let patients resume normal activities at two weeks. If done open through a muscle splitting incision, then 1 month. If done through a midline incision, then 6 weeks. Your surgeon will have a very strong opinion about this and you should follow his directions.
