How long it take to fully recover from having appendix removed?

48 to 72 hrs.: Recovery depends on status of appendix and whether there was an associated abscess from performation or disease very localized. After this was the procedure done by laparoscopy or by an open surgical procedure. If there was no abscess and a laparoscopic procedure performed the GI tract will return functionally in 48 hrs.
