Adolescence: In males--- testosterones rise causing--- deepening of male voice, male hair distribution and muscle hyper trophy and height growth spurt. In females--- it's fsh and lh stimulating activation of ovaries and rise in Estrogens and progesterones. This leads to breast growth, monthly periods and smoother- softer skin. Both males and females also suffer from acne under hormonal influence.
