Is it normal to feel exhausted following a pulmonary embolism?

Yes: The lungs and heart can be significantly stressed following a pe so it takes a while to recover.

Maybe: A pulmonary embolism causes shortness of breath and frequently at least temporarily causes pulmonary arterial hypertension. Patients who have had a pe need to be evaluated for this periodically after treatment to verify further therapy isn't needed.

Yes: Make sure you check your oxygen saturations and get supplemental oxygen if you need it. That is a major cause of feeling exhausted, and is usually reversible as you recover with the proper treatment.
