Hi! i have symptoms of pulmonary embolism, but d-dimer test is normal. is it possible to have pulmonary embolism with normal d-dimer?

D-dimer: Yes a d-dimer can miss a PE if the clot is small or if the test is done too soon or if the test is done incorrectly. The diagnosis is a combination of history, exam, labs, and radiology studies as well as clinical judgement.
