Sounds like pleurisy: Your symptoms of pain in the chest with a deep breath sound like pleurisy. This is caused by inflammation of the outer lining of the lung which often occurs in the setting of a viral syndrome. More info regarding these symptoms and an exam / ECG to assess for concomitant pericarditis may be helpful as well.
