A member asked:

What are the complications from an ovarian cyst?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rupture and torsion: Rupture and torsion are the major complications of ovarian cysts. Ovarian cyst rupture may be associated with sudden sharp pain, which can be severe. Torsion (twisting) of an ovary may result in pain along with nausea and vomiting. Abnormal periods or vaginal bleeding are not typically related to ovarian cysts.
