Usually genetics: Cross eyes or strabismus is usually a developmental disorder in infants and children. This condition is serious and can cause significant vision loss. Please make an appointment with a pediatric ophthalmologist promptly. Good luck!

Muscle imbalance: There are a group of specialized muscles that surround the base of the eye and work to point it where we look. For various reasons a kid may have the muscles not working in harmony. A pediatric ophthalmologist can sometimes push the muscles to work better through patching or glasses but at some point a surgery may be needed to line up the eyes.
