What causes a child to have crossed eyes?

What age?: If it is a newborn it may be normal, after a couple of months if it is still present it may be a problem with the muscles that coordinate eye movement, and if it is not treated it may cause amblyopia, it is very worrisome if it happens all of a sudden in previously normal eyes.
