Right Away: Teratogenic effects are worse early in pregnancy and chronic effects of alcohol (fetal alcohol syndrome) and smoking (miscarriage, growth restriction, abruption, developmental delays) can be serious. Stop as soon as you attempt or plan a pregnancy & definitely as soon as you test positive. Take care & thank you for thinking of your health and the health of your pregnancy.
