Depends: That is quite individual. It depends on the sport, your position, and the athletic level that you participate at. We can often work with you to find the optimum level of risk that you want to take and balance it with participation in sports. There is never a clear answer, so an individual conversation with your surgeon is in line.

Wait: You gotta wait until complete unification has taken place. This usually takes 5 to 6 weeks. Then you may resume your normal activities. Sports clearance is usually given at that time as well, but i would probably not recommend full participation in any sport requiring prolonged running of foot involvement, as you may be sore and also prone to reinjury.
