Angle closure?: If your eye pressure is elevated enough to cause eye pain, you may be experiencing angle closure glaucoma. You need to see an eye doctor asap. Many other issues can cause the feelings of eye pressure and pain but increased ocular pressure is very serious.

Not likely: If your eye pressure is high enough to cause pain, you would also experience hazy vision, nausea, and eye redness. Pressure behind the eyes is almost always due to sinus problems. Sinuses surround the eye socket and can cause what really feels like eye pain. See your family doc to sort things out.
