A member asked:

I was diagnosed with a yeast infection. i was prescriped 2 pills of diflucan (fluconazole). the itchting and the pain has gone. however the cottage cheese discharge is still there and is getting worse. what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resistance: Some strains of yeast are resistant to diflucan (fluconazole). It is only 70% effective for vaginal yeast infections. Alternatives can be further treatment with diflucan (fluconazole), use Miconazole 7 vaginal cream for 7 days, get a prescription for a different antifungal cream such as terconazole from you clinician.
