Any previous injury : When you say blood clot in the leg , have to differentiate clots in vericose veins, which is not dangerous but clots in deep veins are serious, as it has no valves, will move into lungs. Causes are damage to veins due to injury , polycythemia vera, high hb, slow flow state, inactivity& pooling, and thick blood will cause clotting in the veins. You must see your doctor to find the cause.

A Deep Vein Clot?: If you you have been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) more than once you may need to treated lifelong with blood thinners. Normal hemoglobin doesnt affect your risk of dvt. Factor v leiden is one one the many factors that may need to be tested to make sure that you do not have a hereditary or acquired hypercoagulable state. Another risk factor for DVT is immobility and certain surgeries.
