Hearing Loss: Hearing loss varies. Early: low tones affected, later: all tones affected. There are medications that can help with some of its symptoms, but no procedure corrects the hearing loss.

Meniere's disease: Meniere's disease should be considered a chronic, lifelong condition with no cure. Treatment may relieve symptoms but doesn't address the underlying abnormal pathophysiology. Hearing loss progresses over time, and often results in permanent loss at all frequencies in the affected ear. This usually occurs over 8-10 years.

Meniere's : No, most patients do not lose all hearing. The treatments for meniere's are directed primarily at reducing or eliminating the vertigo attacks. Treaents include pressure devices ( meniett), injections (steroids or gentamicin) , labyrinthectomy if hearing is bad or vestibular/balance nerve cutting if hearing is good. Soon doctors also discuss shunt surgery but this is more controversial.
