Nuts & healthy fats: Eat lots of healthy fats such as nuts, avocados, olives, seeds, eggs. Also healthy complex carbs such as whole grains, sweet potatoes, quinoa. Starchy vegetables such as corn, beans and other legumes. Eat meals regularly. You may also add in some strength building exercises accompanied by proteins to build muscle mass. You may want to talk to a doctor or nutritionist for additional guidance.

Fitness: Aerobic and resistnce training will normalize your body into what it should be. Ignore most advice about diet beyond spending part of each day comfortable-hungry; the vast majority of americans are exercise-deprived and we're paying both a physiologic and emotional price for it. And congratulations on your plan for a makeover -- it's perhaps the greatest favor you can do yourself.
