Ibuprofen -Tylenol : Best otc help is to take an Ibuprofen and tylenol (acetaminophen) combination. Then get to a dentist asap.

Prescriptions: I would let your dentist know and typically pain meds and antibiotics are rxed. Over the counter advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) will also hold you over. There are no meds that will "cure" a typical toothache. For a long term solution, see your dentist.

Ibuprofen: Ibufrofen 400/600 mg works good every 6 hours if there is no contraindication.

OTC pain meds... BUT: There are no home remedies or cures for rotten teeth. No magic pills or rinses or mouthwashes. Toothaches need to be treated locally by a dentist, someone who has years of experience treating these conditions. The sooner you call the sooner you will feel better. Please don't delay, the pain may soon be unbearable.
