Gather opinions.: The many options for treatment & active surveillance for prostate cancer can be overwhelming to face. First find a urologist you are comfortable with; who can assess your goals, life expectancy, & cancer parameters to help you come to a decision. You have time to find good radiation oncologists as well for an opinion on non-surgical therapies. I wish you well; let us know if you'd like more info.

Low risk: Depending on your psa and biopsy facts, gleason 6 cancer can meet the criteria for very low risk prostate cancer. Go to the nccn.Org website for a detailed outline of options, given your age, monitoring may be an excellent option...Ask all your docs who owns the radiation machine if they send you for radiation consult.
