General care: Look for cleanliness of the nh, prompt, good nursing care, including feeding, bathing, clean- ups and also effective communication from the nursing staff and physician.

Tender loving care: If my mother goes to a nursing home i would expect her to be treated as a human being not patient, get timely attention, fall prevention, physical therapy, nutritionist support, feedback to family members. Bottom line look for reputation of the nh, snf (skilled nursing facility) read reviews and research , ask friends and other physicians and nurses in the area.
