A member asked:

What could this be a urinary tract infection again (5th in a year) and what can i do at nursing home until i see my doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe/please clarify: This can happen as bacteria can ascend the urethra into your bladder, especially in women and in nursing homes, it may occur repeatedly. You might need low-dose, long-term antibiotic treatment. The standard antibiotic is trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole or tmp-smx. You should let them know at the home and get a doctor to examine you and take a urine sample, then see your dr. And get treated asap.
