Not long: You go home right after. A distance of 1 arm's length should be maintained between the person treated & others who spend more than 2 hours next to the patient in any 24 hour period. Brief contact is acceptable, but sleeping together, watching tv, going to movies, long car/plane trips should be avoided for about 11 days after treatment. Drink lots of water and flush twice. Don't share food.

Radiation: Length of hospital stay usually 2-4 days depending upon protocol for that hospital. Most restrictions are for one week after discharge to minimize exposure to others(separate bedroom, wash dishes, utensils , laundry items, etc) no sex for one week and contraception should be used. No pregnancy for women for six months or father a child for two months . Do not re-start breast feeding
