Hyperthyroidism cure: Graves disease is autoimmune thyroid disease. Your body makes antibodies which stimulate your thyroid to make more hormone. RAI essentially destroys the thyroid so it cant make any excess hormone. most patients require hormone relpacement afterwards. If RAI is effective hyperthyroidism shouldnt return. The antibodies are still there and can cause graves eye disease or affect fetuses in the womb.
