Once you do radioactive iodine therapy, does this mean you no longer have graves disease.. or is it just not active. can graves return after rai ?

RAI essentially destroys the thyroid so it cant make any excess hormone. most patients require hormone relpacement afterwards. If RAI is effective hyperthyroidism shouldnt return. The antibodies are still there and can cause graves eye disease or affect fetuses in the womb.
