High: Smoking is clearly recognized as a risk factor for lung cancer. While not all smokers get lung cancer, smokers have a significantly higher risk of developing lung cancer.

Statistics and: Epidemiology eport 'only' 14% of smokers get lung cancer. Sir richard peto declared that smoking past the age of 35 conveys a 50% risk of dying of smoking related disease (heart, lung, and all the other cancers - head and neck, kidnet, bladder, pancreas). While not zero, your risk of developing lung cancer is infinitesmally small if you don't smoke. So don't.
