I have classic lupus symptoms, worse over time. i had a + ana test last year. it's normal this year. could i still have lupus? what else mimics lupus?

LUPUS: It is very important to find out what kind of lupus you have. Is it discoid or systemic? Your lab should be positive to lupus test not only ana. The worse one is when it affects your kidney. Please see your md for advice.

The ANA? False?: The ANA is moot. There are however discrete clinical criteria for the DX of lupus. Do you have them? The test most specific for lupus is double stranded dna antibodies. I suspect you do not ha be sle. It has many mimics. See a rheumatogist. Some trained well in rheumatology would not diagnose you with the information you have given!
