A member asked:

What can cause a lump feeling in the throat that you cannot cough up but feels like you need to burp and can't?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drainage, inflamed: This sensation is often caused by sinus drainage that causes inflammation in the back of the throat. This can cause a sensation of "fullness" in the back of the throat. Another thing that can cause this is reflux (acid, heartburn). Try an antihistamine (zyrtec, allegra, etc) and some saline nasal spray for a few days. If reflux is possible, add a Pepcid - if that doesn't help, see your doctor.
