A member asked:

Is it possible for someone my age to grow out if adhd?

Possible: In theory, statistcally 50% of the children who had adhd at age 7 should outgrow it by 17. This is based on old data. Now we would more likely say that you became better able to live with the adhd and found better ways to cope with it.

Yes : About one third of patients "outgrow" their adhd over time, usually by 25 yo. If the person was treated with stimulants since a young age (5 or 6 yo), then the likelihood goes up to 2/3 to "outgrow" the adhd.

A continuum: Agree with the previous doctors. ADHD is a function a persons vulnerabilities, brain development and environment. If someone who is prone to ADHD hits a lot of challenges in life, symptoms can at times resurface. The more unstructured and unpredictable and overwhelming life becomes the more compromised their functioning. This is true of everyone to some degree. Best to think of ADHD in context
