It depends: Bowel cancer can spread to the liver, lungs, bones, other parts of the abdomen, the brain, as well as in the bowel. If it is in the bowel, obstruction of the bowel can happen. Usually pain is severe and requires strong pain medications. Weight loss, liver failure, shortness of breath, confusion can all happen. I am sorry if you or someone you love is going through this.
