Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and time: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) should help, that and a little time. If he gets numbness or loss of sensation because of the swelling then you should see a doctor right away. That is not very likely.

Watch: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) HC: I would watch for signs of allergy and take him to the er for any signs of increased swelling or orofacial swelling or hives. In the meantime oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and topicsl Hydrocortisone may provide some relief.
